Department of Health Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission

The mandate of the Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission (CQAC) is to promote the delivery of quality healthcare to the residents of the state by regulating the competency and quality of professional healthcare providers under its jurisdiction. CQAC accomplishes this mandate through a variety of activities working with the Department of Health and Health Professions Quality Assurance.

The University of Health Sciences Libraries Evidence Based Website is Available to Chiropractors

A new service, Health Evidence Resource for Washington (HEAL-WA), recently appeared. The website is available to a variety of licensed professionals in Washington State including chiropractors.

Labor and Industries Chiropractic Advisory Committee

A group of chiropractic physicians work closely with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries on all issues related to chiropractic. WAC 296-20-0100 established an advisory committee to assist the Department of Labor and Industries in review of policies related to chiropractic and quality of care issues. The committee is composed of nine members nominated by the Washington State Chiropractic Association, and appointed by the Director of the department. The CAC includes subcommittees on provider education, government relations, and practice guidelines.

Office of the Insurance Commissioner

The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) is one of the smaller agencies in Washington state government. It operates under the direction of the State Insurance Commissioner, a state-wide elected official. The OIC employs approximately 200 workers who perform the agency’s mission of consumer protection and regulation of the state’s insurance industry from a central office located in Tumwater.
